Student Games Programme

Every two years, the most talented wintersports students from around the world gather for the World University Winter Games (WUWGs).

Students are eligible to compete at WUWGs whilst they are matriculated students and at the games held in the January that immediately follows their graduation. As such, it is possible for athletes to attend two WUWGs during their studies if studying in England and two or three WUWGs if studying in Scotland.

The selection criteria is set by the British University Sports Association (BUSA) in consultation with SnowsportGB.

The selection criteria is however quite a challenging one and without a serious training programme committed to by athletes, is really only going to be accessible to those going to university following retirement from the British Team..

The only programme prerequisites are that athletes hold FIS licenses and commit to a minimum of 8 weeks of the programme through the year or 12 weeks over 2 years, with additional weeks being available. Any less time than this and there is no realistic chance of making selection criteria thus no point participating in this programme.

The programme will run on a two year cycle following the cycle of the games.

The next games will be:
